The weather at Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds has settled somewhere between “Corvette Summer” and “Before the Deluge”.

The crowd is trickling in through the ticket gates, their arms heavy with lawn chairs and water bottles. All the pretty girls have dressed for summer as only they can, and as they glide across the fairground I can faintly hear the MarchFourth Marching Band getting tuned up. A woman on stilts is briefly visible before tottering backstage.
